Dr. \u00dclgen Aytan, T\u00fcrkiye denizlerinde hamsinin beslendi\u011fi milimetrik boyutlardaki kopepod isimli zooplanktonlar\u0131n da mikroplastik t\u00fcketti\u011fini ilk kez tespit ettiklerini s\u00f6yledi. Aytan, \u201cHem hamsiyi hem de beslendi\u011fini av\u0131n\u0131 ara\u015ft\u0131rd\u0131k ve sonucu bilim d\u00fcnyas\u0131yla payla\u015ft\u0131k. Benzer \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar \u015fu ana kadar sadece Pasifik Okyanusu\u2019nda yap\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131. Zooplankton i\u00e7inde yer alan, kopepod olarak adland\u0131rd\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z ve bir\u00e7ok bal\u0131\u011f\u0131n besinini olan bu canl\u0131lar k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck b\u00f6cek benzeri canl\u0131lard\u0131r. \u00c7al\u0131\u015fma sonu\u00e7lar\u0131 sadece bal\u0131klar\u0131n de\u011fil bu mikroorganizmalar\u0131n da do\u011fal ortamlar\u0131nda mikroplastik t\u00fcketti\u011fini ortaya koydu.
